MONTREAL - A couple of political junkies popped out the crystal ball to look upon what is in store for Quebec politics after what PQ leader Pauline Marois described as one of the most turbulent she's been involved in.
"This had it all," said former Equality Party MNA Robert Libman. "Student protests, the Charbonneau Commission, corruption, speculation of an election, a third party making headway and changing the dynamics of quebec politics, it had everything for the political junkie."
Fellow panelist predicted that an election will be called August 15 and held September 17.
But campaigning amid possible protests could be tricky, or possibly even helpful, according to Don MacPherson.
"The CEGEPs and universities where they had strikes are starting sessions in mid-August. What will the students do? Will they resume the protests or simply mobilize to get out the vote for the election? There's a theory that Charest and the Liberals are helped by the protests, what happens if they don't hold protests?" he asked.
