Montreal police are investigating a shooting in the Rosemont neighbourhood Monday evening.

Around 7:20 p.m., residents of a building on 18th Ave. near Rosemont Blvd. called police and reported hearing gunshots in the area.

When they arrived at the scene, police found a 30-year-old man who they say appeared to be the victim. He was not hurt. He told police someone shot at him, and then fled on foot.

Police say there is at least one bullet hole in the bannister outside the building.
