Quebec provincial police have located the truck involved in a deadly hit and run that took place earlier this week on Highway 30.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, the owner of a transportation company in Lachine called police to say he spotted what he believed was the truck involved in the deadly crash.

That man told police the truck was brought into his shop showing damage to the front end.

The Surete du Quebec confirmed Saturday that the truck was involved in the fatal hit-and-run.

The discovery came hours after police released video of the collision that took place at 1 a.m. on Highway 30 on Thursday.

The video shows a car driving along the highway as an 18-wheeler comes up from behind and drives directly into it, not even pausing as the car is knocked off the road and into a lamppost.

The impact killed one passenger and severely injured the car's three other occupants, who were all members of the same family.

The victim, Rodrigo Ariel Garcia-Ramos, was from Mexico and was vacationing in Quebec with members of his family.
