Montreal police have arrested a 47-year-old man accused of smashing several parked cars.
The incident began at 3:45 a.m. on De La Roche St. near Beaubien St. when police tried to pull over an erratic driver.
The driver of the minivan tried to ram the police cruiser then sped off along De La Roche St.
After hitting half a dozen parked cars, the occupants of the minivan tried to flee on foot.
They didn't get very far before they were stopped.
Officers have a 47-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman in custody.
They say the man will face charges of drunk driving, armed assault, and refusing to stop for a police officer.
