Residents of Point St. Charles protested Tuesday morning against trucks going through their neighbourhood.

About two dozen people gathered at Congregation Park, near the intersection of Wellington St. and Congregation St. to hold signs and order truck drivers to go around their neighbourhood.

The residents say truck drivers are making illegal left turns off Wellington and driving through their residential neighbourhood to the old CN rail yards.

That's a clear violation of an agreement signed in 2012 where the Mach development group agreed truck drivers would go along an alternate route through an industrial neighbourhood instead.

Residents said they only took action after being repeatedly ignored by authorities.
