A 75-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car in Montreal.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Gouin Blvd. West and Ranger St.

The victim, along with a woman in her twenties, were crossing Gouin when a car ran them down.

The older woman was taken to hospital where she died of her injuries. The younger woman was also hurt but did not need to go to hospital.

Montreal police say the driver had not been drinking alcohol and was not speeding.

This is the fourth time this year that a driver has struck and killed pedestrians in Montreal. There have been several deadly collisions off-island as well -- the most recent being on Sunday in Longueuil.
