Berri St. between De Maisonneuve Blvd. and Ontario St. was closed Wednesday afternoon while the Montreal fire department investigated problems with the old Voyageur bus terminal.

Engineers performed an emergency inspection after a three-square metre area of the concrete floor of the former  terminal shifted. The passageway between the bus terminus and the metro also dropped two inches.

The wall also has a small fissure in it.

Engineers determined the building appears to be safe and determine that the metro does not run under that spot.

Berri reopened in the early evening.

The run-down building south of the new station is still owned by the province and remains vacant.
