One man is accused of killing another person following a car crash in Sainte Julie.

The collision happened around 2 a.m. on Highway 20 East in Sainte Julie, near exit 105.

According to police a speeding Ford Focus rushed into a construction zone and hit a Nissan Maxima, knocking it into a signalling truck.

The Maxima apparently rolled multiple times and came to a stop off the road . The driver of this car, a 32-year-old man from St. Hilaire, died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries when his car came to a stop in a ditch. Police arrested a 40-year-old man at the wheel and are recommending charges of impaired driving causing death.

A section of Highway 20 was closed overnight while police examined the wreckage.
