The digital Flip Video Ultra HD has the best video quality and is the easiest to use of 14 pocket camcorders on the market, a recent Consumer Reports study has found.

All devices, priced at under $200, were deemed nearly foolproof to operate.

The iPod Nano, which also plays music and videos, was considered a top-rated option.

"Compared to other pocket camcorders, the iPod Nano's video is as good as the best we've seen in pocket camcorders. However, the audio begins to distort as it gets louder," said Elias Arias of Consumer Reports.

Another top-ranking video camcorder is the Kodak ZI8, found the study.

All pocket camcorders come with limitations, however, said Arias.

"They don't compare well to full-size camcorders in terms of video quality, or even audio quality. But for their convenience and size, you can't beat them," he explained.
