  Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a cafe in Westmount was hit by gunshots early Tuesday morning.

  A 38-year-old man is in critical condition after he was assaulted during a conflict over a suspected drug deal on a residential street in Montreal North Monday evening.

• Girl, 6, dies after T-bar lift incident at Quebec ski resort

  A six-year-old girl died in hospital Sunday night after being involved in an incident at the Val-Saint-Côme ski resort in Lanaudiere. Quebec police are investigating, though details into the event are not yet known. Officers indicated that it involved a T-bar lift, but they were not able to say more.

• Elderly man shot in Laval in an SAQ parking lot

  Laval police (SPL) officers are canvassing the area and looking at surveillance footage after a man in his late 70s was shot in a parking lot near his car.

• Montreal police investigating after man shot in Ahuntsic-Cartierville

  Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating an armed assault Sunday morning in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough. Police report that a call came in around 6:15 a.m. after a man was shot near a bar on l'Acadie Boulevard near Mazurette Street.

• Montreal-area private school teacher arrested in connection with child pornography

  Parents at a private school on Montreal's South Shore received a disturbing letter Friday night informing them a teacher had been arrested in connection with child pornography. Gilles Croteau is a math teacher at Collège Trinité, a high school in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville.

• Woman in her 30s seriously injured in Lachine stabbing; man, 47, arrested

  A woman in her 30s was stabbed and seriously injured in Montreal's Lachine borough Saturday morning. A 47-year-old man was arrested. Montreal police (SPVM) could not confirm the relationship between the victim and suspect.
