Sault police charge woman in Queen Street break in

Sault police have charged a 37-year-old woman with breaking into a local business and threatening a security guard Wednesday evening.

At about 9 p.m., 911 operators received a report of someone breaking into the establishment in the 1300 block of Queen Street East.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman in the custody of security officers and placed her under arrest.

“An investigation revealed the accused had broken into a building and, when confronted by security, verbally threatened them,” the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said in a news release.

Subsequently, the accused was charged with break and enter, uttering threats and failing to comply with an appearance notice.

The woman was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on March 3.
