The neighbourhood known as Griffintown and the way of life it offered is swiftly fading into history.

That prompted local film-maker and artist Scott MacLeod to turn the camera on the area and preserve it for a documentary.

His film is called 'In Griffintown,' or in French 'Dans La Griff."

"I was very compelled by this wonderful collection of archival photos dating from the '30's to the 2000. And it was a list of these wonderful stories elicited by their photos, so I filmed them on location where buildings once were or still are, holding the photo, recounting a memory or a souvenir of their time in Griffintown," said MacLeod.
