Two Montreal Cegep students facing terrorism charges will likely find out Monday when they will have a bail hearing.

The 18-year-old College de Maisonneuve students were arrested two weeks ago with police believing the young couple planned to leave the country to commit a terrorist act.

Sabrine Djaermane was not in court Friday but her co-accused El Mahdi Jamali did make a brief court appearance.

New evidence has been provided to the defence lawyers, and they need time to review it before making an application for bail.

The teens are charged with attempting to leave Canada to commit a terrorist act abroad, possession of an explosive substance, facilitating a terrorist act and committing an act under the direction or for the profit of a terrorist organization.

CTV News has confirmed the suspects allegedly possessed parts that could be used to assemble a pressure cooker bomb, similar to what was used in the Boston Marathon bombing.

The Crown says it will object to bail given the serious nature of the accusations.

"On all three grounds, which is to say flight risk, danger to the public and the interests in the administration of justice," said prosecutor Richard Roy.

Lawyers will be back in court on Monday to set a date for the bail hearing.

Several other students at College de Maisonneuve have left Canada and are believed to be fighting with Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
