ContactCindy is an award winning journalist who has worked as a reporter for CTV News Montreal since 1997 and filled in as anchor for 17 of those years. She’s now working as a multi-media journalist, shooting video, editing and writing for CTV’s digital platforms and daily news broadcasts.
Cindy has covered a wide range of stories over the years including extensive coverage of the Quebec City Mosque shooting, the disaster in Lac Megantic and more recently, she provided live coverage of most every twist and turn of the province’s policy-making during the pandemic. Cindy has also covered almost every local and national election in between.
In fostering her own keen interest in social and human rights issues Cindy produced in-depth reports over the years, about sex education in schools, elder abuse and special needs adults. Thanks to the influence of her two scientist parents, Cindy embraced medical reporting. She's produced countless reports on research, innovation, the healthcare system and general health, including the opioid crisis. Cindy at one time, also produced an environmental series called the Green Report.
Cindy has won two RTDNA Awards. The first was for a report on 'Drowsy Driving' after a young mother pushing a baby stroller in Montreal’s West-Island was struck and killed by a drowsy driver. The second award was for a series of stories on the one year anniversary of the Lac Megantic disaster and she was also nominated for an award for her story about the outpouring in Montreal after Leonard Cohen’s death. Cindy also won a John Alexander award from the MS Society for her report 'Multiple Choices' about desperate patients in search of a cure- that wasn’t.
A graduate of Marianopolis College and McGill University, Cindy earned a B.A. in English with a double major in Communications and Drama and Theatre. She was a member of the McGill Choral Society, performed in plays, and won a Quebec Drama Festival acting award at the Centaur Theatre during her time as a student. She started her broadcasting career in radio where she spent 4 years at (then) MIX 96 and CJAD.
Cindy is well-travelled but is a dedicated Montrealer, and has always made this city her home.
