Annie DeMelt

Annie has been a reporter at CTV Montreal since 2003, and has been replacing at the anchor desk since 2013.

Her journalism career began on the biggest news day of the millennium: September 11th, 2001. Since then, she’s covered a range of important stories from the shootings at Dawson College to those at the Metropolis, where Pauline Marois was celebrating her historic election night win.

Annie has also produced the Forbidden Montreal series, which has allowed her to combine her interest for Montreal’s history and passion for storytelling. The reports have taken her everywhere from the top of Mount Royal’s cross to the city’s underbelly. CTV cameras were the first allowed in several restricted areas, including Eaton’s 9th floor, which had been off-limits to the media for 15 years.

After studying English literature and Anthropology at McGill University, Annie returned to her hometown of Quebec City, where she graduated from Université Laval. As a student, she worked as a Parks Canada guide in the city and on Grosse Ile, the former quarantine station for immigrants to Canada. Annie is currently working on her most important and fulfilling assignment yet: raising her two young children.
