Montreal to raise fines for some parking infractions in 2025

The City of Montreal says it plans to increase fines for specific violations, including double parking and parking in reserved lanes, starting in 2025.

Valérie Plante's administration says it wants to adopt the hikes during a Dec. 16 city council meeting.

According to the city, the more expensive parking tickets are expected to generate an additional $5.4 million in revenue in 2025.

These increases follow a previous raise in parking fines adopted in 2022.
