Ruby Foo’s Hotel in Montreal now offers guests a year-round eco-friendly skating rink, the first in the province.

The uniquely designed rink called the ‘Shooting Star, was made from high-quality synthetic materials that operate without carbon emissions.

“At Ruby Foo’s, we are committed to providing an exclusive experience that blends wellness with environmental responsibility,” said Josée Lelièvre, vice president of Groupe Luger and general manager of Ruby Foo’s.

“Creating this skating rink aligns with our vision to contribute to responsible and sustainable tourism.”

According to the hotel, the greenhouse gas emissions from the rink’s production and transportation were offset through tree planting under the Carbone Boréal program.

Lelièvre added that in order to minimize its environmental footprint, the hotel has also implemented an “ambitious” sustainability policy.
