MONTREAL -- Montreal firefighters are battling a two-alarm fire in the city's east end.

The blaze broke out in a residential building on Panet Street, near Sainte-Catherine Street in the Gay Village.

Officials say they are still not sure how the fire started, but they believe the building was empty at the time.
