The Montreal police (SPVM) arson squad is investigating after a vehicle was torched in the Nouveau-Rosemont neighbourhood.

Police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said that a 911 call around 3 a.m. reported the a vehicle parked in a private residence was on fire on Jeanne-Jugan Street near Saint-Zotique Street near the Santa Cabrini Hospital.

The fire spread and damaged a residence as well as another vehicle that was parked nearby.

“The fire department could not confirm he exact cause of the fire,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant

The vehicle was parked in a tempo and was totally destroyed and towed away.

There were no injuries, and the SPVM’s arson squad investigators will go to the scene to determine the cause of the fire and review any surveillance cameras in the area.

Brabant could not confirm whether or not an accelerant was found on the scene.
