A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a young man who was videotaped being beaten by police officers.

Alexis Vadeboncoeur is wanted for walking out of a court-ordered drug rehabilitation program earlier this week.

Last year Vadeboncoeur was being chased by police in Trois Rivieres last year following the robbery of a pharmacy when he lay down and surrendered. Surveillance video showed four police officers then kicking and punching Vadeboncoeur before arresting him.

Two of those officers have since been fired, and all four face charges including assault and battery, falsifying police reports and obstruction of justice.

Vadeboncoeur was ordered to undergo six months of drug therapy but walked out of the live-in program on Monday evening, in direct violation of the organization's rules.

The four former officers are Marc-André St-Amant, Barbara Provencher, Kaven Deslauriers and Dominic Pronovost.
