  Canadiens strike back with 3-2 win over Lightning

  The Montreal Canadiens got their revenge in the second of back-to-back games with the Tampa Bay Lightning by posting a 3-2 win on Tuesday. Kirby Dach scored after missing 16 games with a lower-body injury. Jonathan Drouin and Mike Matheson added goals for Montreal. Nick Suzuki collected two assists.

  Habs captain Suzuki fined for cross-checking Panthers forward Lundell

  The NHL has fined Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki US$2,500 for cross-checking Florida Panthers forward Anton Lundell. The infraction occurred late in the third period of Florida's 9-5 win over Montreal on Thursday at Sunrise, Fla.

  The Montreal Canadiens have signed defenceman Jayden Struble to a two-year entry-level contract.

  Hischier leads Devils to 3-1 win over Canadiens

  Nico Hischier had a goal and an assist, and the New Jersey Devils beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-1 Saturday night. Nathan Bastian and Tomas Tatar also scored to help the Devils get their sixth win in eight games (6-1-1) and move two points behind Carolina for first place in the Metropolitan Division. The Hurricanes lost 4-0 to Vegas. Akira Schmid had 23 saves.

  Goaltender Jake Allen and defenceman Mike Matheson are the co-recipients of the Molson Cup for February. Allen was named first star once (Feb. 28 in San Jose), second star on one occasion (Feb. 12 against Edmonton) and third star on one occasion (Feb. 24 in Philadelphia). Matheson was named first star once (Feb. 11 vs. Islanders), second star once (Feb. 25 vs. Ottawa) and third star once (Feb. 14 vs. Chicago).
