MONTREAL - Police set up a security perimeter on the Plateau Sunday afternoon after a witness reported seeing a man carrying a firearm on his back at around 4:45 p.m.
The man, who was accompanied by another person, was last seen walking into a laneway between Hutchison and Durocher, not far from Milton.
A large team of officers came to investigate and there is no word yet as to whether the weapon was real or not.
The perimeter was removed at about 6:30 p.m. and police continued to search for the man and the weapon for some time after the incident.
