With construction of the new McGill hospital well underway at the Glen Yards, the noise it's created is giving neighbours a headache.

Work began about two months ago, but those who live in the area said it's recently become more intense-- and bothersome.

"We live with…bang, bang, bang all the time," said nearby resident Joanne Stitt. "We're not able to sleep…We have to keep the doors and windows closed all the time."

Officials with the McGill University Health Centre say they're doing what they can to lessen the impact of the project, which will take four years to build.

For example, they say there will be no construction at night.

But those in the area say even so, trucks continue driving on and off the site at all hours.

The MUHC has also set-up a hotline for complaints related to construction.

Those who would like to voice their concerns can call 514-934-8317.
