MONTREAL—Police are searching for two suspects in what they believe was a drug-related dispute gone badly, ending with a man stabbed several times in LaSalle on Friday night.

The attempted murder took place just after 11 p.m. on the south side of the Lachine Canal, near the corner of St-Patrick St. and Sterling Ave. The dispute moved into a nearby apartment building where a 22-year-old man was stabbed repeatedly in the upper body.

Police feared for the man’s life, but his condition is now listed as stable.

No description has yet been provided for the two assailants.
