A 42-year-old man dived into a river to avoid being arrested -- but he was still caught by police.
The incident began around 1 a.m. when police officers spotted a parked car on Ile Charron in Boucherville.
As they approached the car a man ran out of the vehicle wearing nothing but his underwear, then jumped into the river.
A woman that police identified as a prostitute remained in the car.
Police eventually convinced the man to come back to dry land and get treated for the minor injuries he apparently sustained when he ran into the water.
The man was arrested and released with a promise to appear in court at a later date.
