Man arrested by the SPVQ for attempted murder in domestic incident
A man was arrested on Thursday night by Quebec City police (SPVQ) for attempted murder of a woman.
The police say the incident occurred at around 2:10 a.m. on chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois, in the borough of Sainte-Foy-Sillery-Cap-Rouge.
The 26-year-old man in question was arrested by the SPVQ, while the victim, a 30-year-old woman, was transported to hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The SPVQ says that another woman was injured while trying to help the victim, but that she is not linked to the incident. Authorities do not fear for her life either.
Investigators from the major crime unit's domestic violence unit and technicians from the forensic identification unit were on the scene to reconstruct the events and gather information.
The man is currently in custody and was due to appear in court on Friday for attempted murder.
