At the trial of Luka Magnotta the prosecution continued to undermine the credibility of yet another psychiatrist testifying for the defence.
Dr Joel Watts testified earlier that the man accused of killing Chinese student Jun Lin was schizophreniac, and was going through a psychosis at the time of the killing.
He is the second psychiatrist to testify who examined Magnotta for an extended period of time, and he also concluded that Magnotta has schizophrenia.
Now the prosecution is questioning what steps were taken to verify many of the claims made by Magnotta through the numerous interviews they had together.
As one example, Magnotta frequently refers to a man named Manny, a former client who Magnotta has said was responsible for telling him to kill Jun Lin.
The Crown asked Watts on several occasions what kind of efforts were made to track down Manny.
Watts replied that Manny probably does exists, but he has no proof.
The trial, which was supposed to end in early November, is not yet complete, mostly because testimony from psychiatrists is taking longer than expected.
The Crown is also planning to call another psychiatrist to counter the experts brought forth by the defence team.
The judge said this week he expects the trial will wrap up by the end of the month, at which point the jury will be sequestered during their deliberations.
