Cold snap finally breaks with more comfortable temperatures en route

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison has the details on your Thursday morning forecast.

The worst of it is over. While still feeling frigid Thursday morning, with a windchill making it feel like minus 20, the cold weather is improving. However, more snow is on the way.

“Snowfall amounts will be extremely heavy in Huron County as well as southern Bruce and the Bruce Peninsula,” said CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “The rest of the region will see a general light dusting of snowfall overnight.”

Atchison warns that some areas could pick up about 15 cm of snow.

A breezy, snowy, and chilly Thursday on the docket, but come Saturday, we warm up to a “balmy” minus 4 degrees.

Thursday: Flurries. Wind southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. High minus 6. Wind chill minus 20 this morning and minus 13 this afternoon. UV index 1 or low.

Thursday night: Flurries ending this evening then partly cloudy with 40 percent chance of flurries late this evening and after midnight. Flurries beginning overnight. Local amount 2 cm. Wind northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light near midnight. Low minus 13. Wind chill near minus 20.

Friday: Increasing cloudiness. Wind becoming southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 near noon. High minus 7. Wind chill minus 20 in the morning and minus 14 in the afternoon.

Saturday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 4.

Sunday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 4.

Monday: Cloudy with 30 per cent chance of flurries. High minus 3.

Tuesday: A mix of sun and cloud with 30 percent chance of flurries. High minus 2.
