Fete Nationale celebrations are taking place across the province Thursday. Here's a partial list of family-friendly activities in the Montreal area.

Beaconsfield: Learn about Quebec's history and celebrate its creativity with traditional dance and music performances. There's also a puppet show; horse-drawn wagon rides; traditional arts and crafts; art exhibition and sale; mini sailboat regatta. Chateauguay: Family entertainment includes games, art workshops, a collective mural, and face painting, Quebec history will be told through stories and songs, and will end with a picnic dinner at Maison LePailleur. Activities start at 10:30 a.m. More information.

Dorval: Games and activities for the whole family, including a barbecue and fireworks at Millenniun Park. 10 p.m. More information.

Hochelaga-Maisonneuve: The largest Montreal Fête Nationale party in the city is here at Maisonneuve Park, and includes musical performances. It all starts at 1 p.m. with a parade of giant representations of Quebec historical figures leaves from Fullum and Sherbrooke St. and ending at Pie IX at 5:30 p.m. More information.

Lachine: Musical shows by performers including Mara Tremblay Bernard Adamus and Fred Fortin at 2801 St. Joseph Blvd. Also, from June 24 to 26, the Theatre de la Rue festival will be held from 7 p.m. onward. More information.

LaSalle: Children's music and dance show, Couleur Soleil, will be followed by dinner, and traditional music at Aqueduct Park. 4 p.m. More information.

Outremont: Family activities will be taking place including music, face painting, a collective mural, water games, a barbecue and a show for the kids, all at St. Viateur Park. Noon - 5p.m.

Pointe Claire: Family activities include games, contests, sports, inflatable games, arts and crafts, a climbing wall, swimming, a magic/clown show, traditional music and dinner Alexandre Bourgeau Park. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fireworks at 10 p.m. More information.
