MONTREAL—The Jacques-Cartier Bridge was closed to traffic at around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday as a man climbed the superstructure above the St-Lawrence River. The bridge remained closed until around 1:30 p.m.

According to the Suerte du Quebec, a man climbed the section of the bridge between Montreal’s south shore and Ste-Helene Island. A number of police and fire vehicles were deployed to the bridge.

The police operation finished just after 1:15 p.m.
