A police chase on Highway 40 ended in a major crash Thursday evening.

Quebec provincial police say two suspected stolen vehicles were spotted on the highway in Vaudreuil-Dorion, west of the Island of Montreal, at 8 p.m.

Officers with the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) attempted to pull the drivers over, but they fled.

A police pursuit ensued, ending on Côte-de-Liesse Road when the drivers lost control of their vehicles and crashed into each other.

They then fled on foot but were apprehended almost immediately.

One of the suspects is a minor, and the other is a 20-year-old man.

They were arrested and transported to hospital with minor injuries.
