Here are the weekend road closures in the Montreal area
Those planning on driving in and around Montreal this weekend should avoid certain sectors where construction is planned.
In particular, major closures are planned in both directions of the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) between the Turcot Interchange and the Ville-Marie Tunnel and on Highway 10 near Nuns' Island.
Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) / Turcot Interchange / Ville-Marie Tunnel
• From Friday at midnight to Sunday at 7:30 a.m., in the Turcot interchange, the ramp from Highway 20 to the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136 (towards downtown) will be closed.
Detours will be in place.
Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) / Ville Marie Tunnel / Viger Tunnel
Eastbound
• From Friday at 11:30 to Monday at 5 a.m., the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) eastbound (towards downtown) will be closed between exit 4 (de la Montagne Street) and the access to Atateken Street.
As a result, the following are default closures:
• Notre-Dame Street West and de la Cathedrale Street entrances.
• Boulevard Robert-Bourassa and Highway 10 West (Bonaventure) entrances.
• From Saturday at midnight to Sunday at 7:30 a.m., the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) eastbound will be closed from the Turcot Interchange.
As a result, the following are default closures:
• In the Turcot Interchange, the ramps from the Decarie Expressway (Highway 15 South) and Highway 15 North to the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) East will be closed.
• The Tanneries Boulevard to the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) East will be closed.
Westbound
• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) West will be closed between Panet Street and the entrance to Lucien-L'Allier Street.
As a result, the following are default closures:
• Hôtel-de-Ville Avenue, Sanguinet Street and Saint-Antoine East entrances.
Bonaventure Highway (A-10) / Nuns' Island sector
• From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the Bonaventure Highway (A-10) East will be closed between exit 4 (A-15, A-20) and the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge.
• At the end of the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge (towards Montreal), in Exit 58 (Highway 10 West, downtown, Nuns' Island), the ramp leading to Highway 10 West/downtown will be closed.
Route-132 / Route-138 / Honoré-Mercier Bridge interchange in Kahnawake
• From Saturday at 10 p.m. to Sunday at 5 a.m., the ramp leading from Route 138 West (from Montreal) to Route 132 East (towards La Prairie) will be closed.
• From Sunday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the ramp leading from Route 132 West (from La Prairie) to Route 138 East (towards Montreal), will be closed.
REM light rail line
•On Friday and Saturday, the last departure on REM service will be at 11:45 p.m. from Montreal / Central Station and at 11:25 p.m. from Brossard.
•On Saturday and Sunday, the REM service will open at 8 a.m.
All roadwork may be subject to cancellation due to weather or operational constraints.
