Gatineau police are investigating the "suspicious" deaths of a couple at their home in the city's Aylmer neighbourhood.

The bodies of the man and women, in their twenties, were found on Monday afternoon by a relative.

Police have not confirmed the couple's identity, but they have been identified by neighbours as Amanda Trottier and Travis Votour.

The couple's three-year-old daughter was found at home, unharmed.

One neighbor told CTV News he heard two loud bangs that sounded like gunshots on Monday afternoon, but police have not confirmed if any shots were fired in connection to this case.

Autopsies on the man and woman are to be performed Tuesday or Wednesday in Montreal.
