A firetruck sits at the rear of Notre Dame de Fatima church in Boisbriand. Flames erupted at 6 p.m. Monday May 27, 2013.
Fire has damaged the only catholic church in Boisbriand.
The fire at Notre Dame de Fatima began around 6:30 p.m. Monday at the rear of the building.
It took crews several hours to extinguish the flames and put out all the hot spots.
Damage seems to be limited to the rear of the building, where the fire burned through sections of the roof but did not do much to exterior walls.
Nobody was hurt and the cause of the fire is not known, although it did begin in a section where charitable donations were kept.
