A truck driver was taken to hospital Tuesday after driving into a building in St. Henri.

The driver was trying to go into a short tunnel that leads to the parking lot and loading dock for the IGA on Notre Dame St. near Workman St.

However the truck was too tall to fit, and the top of the cargo bay rammed into the building.

The steel frame of the building damaged the truck, and the impact left the driver in shock. He did not have any visible injuries, but was taken to hospital for treatment.

Notre Dame St. is closed in the area while police and other crews inspect the damage and remove the vehicle.
