WEATHER | Extreme cold warnings blanket the province of Quebec

After an extremely mild month of January, the province is bracing for a blast of arctic air that will move in tonight and last until Saturday. Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued extreme cold warnings that covers most of the province with wind chills expected to be between -38 and -42 across the South and -50 across Northern Quebec.

Montreal recycling centre says it's complying with standards following controversies

The Saint-Michel recycling center in Montreal, which has been at the center of various disputes and controversies in past years, claims to have made the necessary investments to meet industry standards. Ricova, which operates the Saint-Michel sorting center -- one of the largest in Quebec -- claims that the acquisition of six optical sorters has allowed it to reduce the contamination rate of paper and plastic bales "significantly," from 35 per cent to 2 per cent.
