The man who murdered West Island resident Kelly-Anne Drummond is appealing his conviction.

Drummond was 24 years old when she was stabbed to death in 2004.

Her boyfriend, Martin Morin Cousineau was convicted of second-degree murder in 2006, and was sentenced to life with no chance for parole for 13 years.

Cousineau is appealing on the basis the judge didn't allow manslaughter as an option.
