“It is with dismay that we learned of the attacks in Paris. We strongly condemn these acts of violence. On my own behalf and on behalf of all Montrealers, I express my deepest sorrow and my sympathies to the families and relatives of the victims.
"I conveyed my condolences to the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo. In these difficult times, Montrealers are attached to the French and Parisians affected by this terrible tragedy.
"We are with them in their grief and in the battle against all forms of violence. We offer them our full support. Tonight, we are all Parisians."

It is our sincere hope that the hostages are freed unharmed as soon as possible. We also wish a speedy recovery to all those who have been injured.
