The English Montreal School Board approved changes at three elementary schools at a special meeting on Wednesday evening.
Parkdale in St. Laurent will become an exclusively English core school and its French immersion program will move to nearby Cedarcrest school.
Also in St. Laurent borough, Gardenview's boundaries will change, meaning some new French immersion students will go to Cedarcrest.
The changes will help Cedarcrest, which has only 117 students.
Montreal North
Also on Wednesday, the EMSB announced that Gerald McShane Elementary in Montreal North will switch from a bilingual to a full French emersion program.
St. Gabriel in Point St. Charles will go from English core to bilingual.
