Funeral service for Calgary mother and her father killed over holidays to be held Saturday

The funeral for Ania Wardzala-Kaminski and her father Stanislaw will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. in Calgary

The funeral for a Calgary mother and her father, both killed by the woman’s husband over the Christmas holidays, will be held Saturday.

A joint service for Ania Wardzala-Kaminski and Stanislaw Wardzala will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church beginning at 11 a.m.

The pair was killed in their homes in Tuscany and Kinora and discovered on Dec. 29.

Family say Ania and her father were victims of domestic violence at the hands of her husband who police say was found dead two days later.

Ania’s three young children are now being cared for by their grandmother.

A GoFundMe page to support the children has raised nearly $330,000.

Last Friday, dozens gathered outside Ania’s home for a vigil.

A livestream of the funeral service will be available online.

The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, people donate to the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter (Fear is Not Love).
