A 61-year-old Brossard woman has died after being hit by a truck.
The platform truck driving west on Taschereau Blvd toward La Prairie collided with the pedestrian at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday.
The woman was pronounced dead in hospital, confirmed Surete du Quebec spokesperson Marc David.
The 19-year-old driver was taken to hospital to be treated for shock.
A large perimeter was set up at the busy intersection, with traffic currently blocked at the corner of Panama Blvd and Taschereau. The permeter was causing traffic snarls in the area through rush hour.
Police are trying to determine if the woman crossed at a green light or if the weather played a factor in the unfortunate incident.
