One driver faces several charges following Highway 400 crash in Oro-Medonte

Traffic came to a standstill Friday afternoon following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 400 in Oro-Medonte.

Shortly before 3 p.m., officers from the Orillia OPP detachment responded to the crash. Upon arrival, police say they observed the driver displaying alleged signs of impairment.

The outcome of this collision sent a 42-year-old driver to a nearby hospital, police later confirmed that he was released with minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a Midland resident has been charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus, and careless driving.

The accused man is scheduled to appear before the courts at a later date.
