P.E.I. man dies after crashing snowmobile into trees in New Brunswick

A 37-year-old man from York, P.E.I., has died following a snowmobile crash in South Tetagouche, N.B.

Chaleur Region RCMP responded to the single-vehicle crash on Woodland Trail around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Police believe the crash happened when the driver of the snowmobile failed to negotiate a turn and crashed into trees.

The driver and sole occupant of the snowmobile died at the scene. Police say he was the same man who was reported missing in the Balmoral Parish area on Monday.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine the man’s exact cause of death.
