Coroner’s inquest to be held for man who died at Dieppe, N.B., water main break

An upcoming coroner’s inquest will look into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man at a water main break in Dieppe, N.B., more than a year ago.

Jamie Harris died after suffering injuries while working at the site of the break on Aug. 21, 2023.

Deputy chief coroner Emily Caissy and a jury will determine the facts surrounding Harris’s death after hearing evidence from witnesses. The jury will also be able to make recommendations to prevent deaths under similar circumstances.

The inquest will run from Feb. 24 to 27.
