Anastasia Dextrene
Anastasia got her start in journalism as an intern at the Senate of Canada in 2013. Tasked with writing newsletters, it was not long before she was designated as editor-in-chief. The experience opened her eyes to reporting — a skill she nurtured alongside her love of the performing arts.
After roles at the Los Angeles Times, the Emmy award-winning news show "L.A. Times Today," and at CityNews Montreal, the Montreal native joined CTV News Montreal as an announcer performer and videojournalist in 2024.
Anastasia holds an honours B.A from the University of Toronto, an MFA from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts, and an MS in journalism from Columbia University.
When she is not covering weather, entertainment and community events on television and radio, Anastasia can be found singing, indulging in Italian food, and traveling the world.
