The bail hearing for 25-year-old man accused of stabbing a woman in NDG was postponed Monday. It is now set for March 2.

On that date, the defence will decide if they want to proceed with a bail hearing for Mathew Roberge.

Roberge was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted for the 2013 manslaughter of a man at a bar.

He was released several months ago, and on Jan. 27, 2016, he is accused of attacking a woman walking home in NDG.

The 25-year-old victim had left the Villa Maria metro station and was walking along Monkland Ave. when someone stabbed her in the neck.

Roberge was arrested a short distance away and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

On Monday morning the Crown and Roberge's lawyer agreed to meet outside court to discuss some issues in the case, including whether Roberge would abandon his attempt to win bail.

Roberge is on parole, and as such is supposed to keep the peace in addition to certain other conditions.

Roberge will remain behind bars until the bail hearing.
