Governments seek buyer as Quebec COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer Medicago set to close

The Quebec government says it's looking to find a buyer for Medicago Inc., the Quebec-based COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer that will be shut down by parent company Mitsubishi Chemical. Quebec Economy Minister Pierre Fitzgibbon said Friday the province has had preliminary talks with potential buyers in the pharmaceutical sector to keep Medicago's expertise and skilled workforce in Quebec.

Quebec launches new information tool to monitor province's emergency rooms

Quebec Health Minister Christian Dube announced the launch of a new information tool designed to provide the public with a more accurate picture of the situation in the province's hospital emergency rooms. The tool is still in the running-in phase, according to the Minister in a press release. Nevertheless, some indicators are already available at Quebec.ca/SituationUrgences.

Accurso family-owned building in Laval targeted in suspected arson

Another property reportedly belonging to a family member of Tony Accurso was the target of an arson attack in Laval early Saturday morning. The Laval fire department responded to a call at 3:22 a.m. about a fire at the building located at 1410 Jaffa Street in the Saint Rose district in the northern part of Laval.
