MONTREAL - Police are searching for clues after a Riviere des Prairies man was found dead in his garage with multiple gun shot wounds in his chest.

The body of Anthony Di Salvo, 44, was found in his home on Perras Blvd. near 89th Ave.by a friend on Monday around supper time.

Police say Di Salvo was linked to illegal drugs and has a criminal record, with one conviction involving conspiracy dating back to the 1990s.

He is married without children, and a relative told CTV Montreal's Stephane Giroux the victim works in construction.

The neighbourhood is made up of newly-constructed homes, some of which have yet to be completed.

The homicide is Montreal's sixth this year. Police wouldn't speculate about the motive in the case.
