Westmount homes evacuated in bomb scare

MONTREAL - Police evacuated about 10 houses near Montrose and Ramezay Wednesday afternoon after a man in his fifties opened a suspicious package near his home around 2 p.m.
He found items that appeared to be explosives.
The bomb team was called in to neutralize the package.
The man who found the package is not known to police but is a well-known businessman, according to various reports.
By about 5:30 p.m. police reported that the item was not dangerous.
