A water main break in Snowdon flooded several streets but no houses in an area east of Decarie Blvd. early Wednesday.

A pipe burst sometime overnight, and by 4 a.m. city crews were at the intersection of Edouard Montpetit Blvd. and Mountain Sights Ave. to clear away the icy slush as it formed.

They also turned off water mains in the area while they located the source of the leak.

Police are restricting traffic in the neighbourhood until crews manage to pinpoint the broken pipe and repair the damage.

While examining the damage, city workers found a second break and the borough now says the repairs won't be finished until 7:30 p.m.
